Movies I want to see and why:
Mostly new releases, but I’ll include one or two old ones that Liz and I somehow failed to see. Multiple times. O|¯|_
A Dangerous Method
It has an interesting subject
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Because! Also, the first movie. (Which if you remember I prepared to go to a year in advance.)
We are going the 16th. I hope they’re merchandising those playing cards!
I’m on my (kick!) honeymoon!
—Shouts Watson, while with Holmes.

The Lorax
Because it is one of the few Dr. Seuss books I liked (others include The Sneetches and The Butter Battle Book), although I am typically and decidedly not for full-length Dr. Seuss movies, or indeed, most full-length movies based on short picture books, with little to no exception.
Also, Ed Helms is in it!

(I swear, I recognized the movie one second into the trailer at Hugo)

The Adventures of Tintin
Another movie I do hope will be good, but am getting myself to eventually rather because of Tintin’s place in comics history.

Tangled
It’s been so long I’ve forgotten what interest I’ve had in this movie. Friends know I am not particularly a fan of 3D animation, and that I have not recently seen any Disney movies. What I do remember is Liz and I failed to see this on at least three separate occasions, on one of which I did have the opportunity to see the first hour or so on my own if I so liked.

Jane Eyre
The book is still sitting on my shelves unread, but the previews (meaning early reviews, not trailers) made it seem right up Liz’s and my alley. Unfortunately we could not get to this one either, but maybe this movie, which I stumbled upon while looking up Jane Eyre’s website, will be interesting too (although movies about authors tend not to be…).

The Social Network and Hugo
As you may already know (at least about the latter), I was recently able to knock both of these off my list. You may have heard my skepticism during the early trailers before Social Network’s release, but in the later ones and previews Zuckerberg (Eisenberg… wait… weird…)’s vitriolic tongue piqued my interest.

I’m still trying to figure out what I thought about it, but Hugo is a definite YES. Don’t mind the trailer. As Jordan C. commented on the official Facebook page:
The trailer is pretty bad, but the movie was really good.
(To which I responded, if you are interested:
I agree with Jordan. Relieved I’d been wanting to read the book, because with the trailer alone I would’ve really missed out!
Not sure how I would go about making a decent trailer though. The movie was SO FULL of (good) stuff!)
I’ll write up my thoughts later, but in the meantime, if you are interested in learning more, there is a positive review over at Ministry of Truth Film Ratings (which admittedly, I found through their “liking” my Hugo post) and a more skeptical one here (through image search, if you need to know). I haven’t thoroughly read either, but have skimmed both, and they seem quite thorough (ironic?).
And maybe M:I IV on DVD, for Simon Pegg.
In other news, I’m rereading Sally Lockhart in order to make up some worksheets for it, and I’ve forgotten how thoroughly I love these books. (I mean, I had a vague memory, but nothing like reading them again! In case you’re wondering, yes, I was excited pre-trailer for The Golden Compass, and yes, I was very sad walking out of the theater. After the movie ended of course!! I don’t do that.) Now I’m off to re-tackle The Little Prince before tomorrow!

(One more picture, just because.)
What are the movies you want to see, and why?
